I forgot to turn the flash on the right side on, so the lighting isn't perfect, still I liked it so I kept it. The lighting on this tank isn't very bright. Makes it hard to focus with a manual focus lense.

He is a pretty good sized boy, about 9"

Canon 40D
Yashica ML 50mm f/1.7 at f/8

Wow! Great capture, Ron! I've yet to use that lens, but it looks like a sharp
one!

I am amazed by how you are able to control all the reflections Ron.
Truly a masterful work!

Wow again.
It is really great you are bringing out this side of your work.
I for one am inspired. To make such beautiful and natural looking shots
with flash is really impressive.
And this fish is so healthy and beautify kept.

Thanks Bill.

You should use it Bill, you won't believe how good it is. I thank Andy for putting me on to it.

Ron

I really drool over the results you get with flash - a technique I could never get to work right. What an incredible merger of two hobbies!

Poilu, This isn't a big fish in my aquariums although he in reality probable 10 inches. My biggest fish is 26 inches. I have a 55 gallon, 90's, 120's a 180 and a 270 gallon. Mike has many more than I do although he won't show pictures. Mike has a really nice setup. Also he doesn't have a wife to answer to.

Oh and thank you.

Thanks Patrick.

Flash is really easy. All you have to do is practice over and over. Pretty soon you don't even have to think, its just automatic. I do better with manual flash than ETTL. Every aquarium shot I take is manual.

I appreciate all the nice comments. Makes me feel very good.
