I just won this lens... I was not expecting. I even forgot about the my bid. Just got the mail about winning. Earlier was not even thinking of bidding. The high S&H charges were really deterrent for me.

Finally got my $40 Leica Elmirat-R 35mm f2.8... Wink

Wow.. what a lens... in great condition.. only the red dot is missing.. almost like new, but without front and back caps...


Seems like, I need to forget Flek now... (except for close focus)

All results are wide open.. and direct RAW to JPEG conversion with Lightroom 1.4, with default parameters (I think some sharpening too)

Great lens to roam around... very saturated, great sharpness...



Will capture some kids pics tomorrow... I am really excited about this lens...

That's true. I also envy those who reside in countries with deep national culture.
The best we can do here is to look to our aboriginal citizens. There is some profound traditions to be found there.
Yet, it is somehow not as joyous to attend those events. The reminders of the tragic way those amazing people where treated are everywhere.
Sorry I am dribbling. The lack of a national culture is one of the biggest voids in the US.
The worlds view is the culture here is War and consumerism. It is kind of tragic Sad
