This is a triplet based telephoto lens with minimum focus distance of between seven to eight feet . More about telephoto from Piesker van be found here http://forum.mflenses.com/piesker-lens-early-t-mount-system-t41396.html .

Here are some photos from my practice of oriental style. A fast standard or short telephotos will be best for oriental style. P.S. All photos processed in LR5.2 with necessary adjustment.

Yes. Contrast is a bit on the lower side but resolution is not bad. We cannot ask too much for a lens in the 1950s. Wink

I have this lens but have not looked at the highlights it produces before,nice samples .I confess I do like the way this lens pulls apart....and the way it looks of course.

I have this lens too, in Exakta mount.
I confess I have never tried it on DSLR.
I have tried half-heartedly to do bokeh-centric pictures like this but I can rarely make them work. Hats off to you.

I once asked a Chinese friend (from Liverpool China Town) of mine what he thought makes a good photographer....

He replied in Mr Ip style, he said

" First you must master the Vertical,

Then, you must master the Horizontal,

Then and only then you must master the Oriental" Smile

Thanks all! Many lens with simple design are good for this kind of bokeh-centric. The less corrected are better than highly corrected.

@luisalegria
Takeing bokeh-centric photos with digital camera with live-view is much more easy. You can see effect before you take the photo.

@JohnBar
I cannot mater the Horizontal and I am learn the Oriental first time. Oriental can never be mastered IMHO. Wink

Ok, i have gone through the threads (art, and this), but still confused (!)

What is horizontals and verticals?

Personally, i found the bokeh a bit distracting. For some application, they are fine, but for portraits, they may pull away the main point of the frame. The samples from other thread are very nice. I have never thought that there is an oriental style in photography Very Happy I always do my best from what ever i have in hand, even it might be limited. That, i think is challenging and fun.

Horizontals and verticals can be be refers to:

1. Orientation of photo
2. Lines in the photo
3. The way of thinking when taking a photo
4. to inf ...(any appropriate oriental style answer)

I limit myself on oriental style when taking this set. Limits do helps to boost creativity if you can live with it. Wink

Yes , as Calvin83 noted , the vertical and horizontal refers to portrait and landscape camera style.

Lens arrived this morning.
It is wonderful.
Two quick shots wide open with no PP. Sorry but these are not Oriental style - I'll have to work on that Very Happy
