Excellent!
But in my opinion this would fit better into street photography than architecture; the main subject here is the event, not the buildings.

Very nice and accurate, Rawhead.

That's a fantastic lens for this purpose (I suppose you didn't have to correct distorted lines).

Interesting to read your point of view, Orio. Smile
Because I had the opposite look at it : first the buildings and after the event. Very Happy

Wow, the detail is amazing! I'm not normally an HDR fan, but this is good! Smile Maybe a bit tight at the top and bottom? Wink

Thanks Edgar.
You're right, it's very tight top and bottom. When I took the shot I was leaning over backwards, hard against a wall, so no room to move further back. Sad
The other side of the wall is a 6m drop so I settled for this shot. Laughing

What do you use to develop your HDR images?

PostPosted: Sun Feb 10, 2013 7:20 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Well, everything is done from within Lightroom, I use a variety of plugins from there.
I use Lightroom itself at the beginning for CA removal and levelling.
Depending on the subject and the lighting I'll either use Photomatix Pro or Nik's HDR Efex Pro 2 (why are these things always 'Pro'?). They both have their advantages and they have their own 'style' for want of a better word.
I have my own presets in both programs, very basic presets because I use other plugins to develop the shots further.
The real developing is done in either Topaz plugins are Nik Colour Efex Pro.
Noise is always an issue, I'll either use Topaz Denoise or Nik Define, again each has it's advantages depending on the situation.
After all that there's usually a tweak or two in Lightroom to finish.

Too much information?

Thanks Gary.

I was looking for some human activity in the building. The lady in the frame appeared and added interest to the image. You can see a faint image of someone who came to the window near her as she called. Smile

I Love this! Razz I suppose its literally exotic to what I see in passing most days Razz

the red mask on the outside wall. Is there any cultural significance to that? or is it just fashionable?

Thanks tromboads,

Almost all Indian houses will have at least one of these on roof top wall corners open to public gaze.Usually bust head replicas of this image are installed on corners. These are supposed to be sentinels guarding against evil,in whatever form, invading the secure home. Since the house I showed earlier does not have the common parapet wall they, probably, chose to put a symbol on the side wall.I am adding a new image to give you some idea.

Me too, someone has been very brave and creative choosing the colours.
It looks like 1930s "modernist" style.

Thank you for the complement

The lens in the picture is very close, the one I used is all brass.

The camera is here http://forum.mflenses.com/motley-8x10-camera-t45802,highlight,%2B8x10.html
