Chasing the District Nurse

Great quality from the phone Graham. What was the reason for your visit to Studland Bay with the District Nurse? Wink

It didn't do badly for a phone, but doesn't stand up to any degree of pixel-peeping. It only has three of those "Minky Pixies" Laughing

I organise an annual bicycle event for 'low tech' bicycles called the Toggle Chain Tour (www.togglechaintour.co.uk). Basically steel frames and hub gears, like grandpa would recognise. Anne-Marie get a little too into it all, and turns up in a 'vintage' district nurse outfit. None of the men seem to mind Laughing

Each year we visit a different part of the country. Norfolk in 2010 (aka Nelson's Norfolk), Dorset in 2011 (aka Dorset Dawdle), and 2012 will be Newark-on-Trent (aka Notts Landing).

This year I'm planning to take a 'proper' camera Embarassed

Nicely done, Graham.
Seeing Nurses' position, it seems she's taking the lead ! Smile

I think most of the men stayed behind her on purpose Shocked Laughing But she is used to cycling in Wales where the mountains make you very fit, so the flat roads of Dorset were no challenge for her. I'm from the flatlands of Norfolk, so I was usually at the back Embarassed

EOS 1000D, Pentacon 30mm I believe as it has 10 bladed aperture and I used it that day. Probably f8, definitely 30 seconds at ISO 100.

this photo is awesome! I really like the bus information light

I've looked at this photo many times and still can't decide what's going on, either;
a) there's a hint of tilt-shift, or
b) there's a hint of 3D.

either way, I really like it. Smile

The heat from the engines blurs the image halfway, behind that it becomes a bit sharper again. I think that causes the 'tilt-shift' effect.

Yeah that's where I was looking, I didn't consider the heat at all. Rolling Eyes

Old Rover, possibly a P5
Taken at RAF Croft. Nikon d40 18-55 lens at widest. Series of 5 exposures, B&W hdr, then glow added in photoshop. One of my faves.

Never noticed this thread, I'll add a couple of (AF) shots from Turin Automobile Museum (at which I worked for a video installation):

De Tomaso Pantera (sony a55 + kit lens) - one of my favourite sports cars ever, designed by Tom Tjaarda in the early '70s:

A prototype by Bertone of a 1955 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider:

Pinin Farina's Cisitalia 202 (1946), the coupè version of this car is displayed at MOMA since 1951.

And finally a concept car from the '50s by Fiat: Fiat Turbina

Unususally powered by a gas Turbine, but I don't know much else about it.
