Hi there.

Contax Vario-Sonnar 4/80-200 propably is not the best from Zeiss zooms but nice colours.

The best performance at f=135 and the best aperture is f8

Attila, thanks..

5D MkII is a magic camera with Zeiss lenses --
You can clearly see that the Zeiss goes ahead on this sensor..

This camera belongs to my brother Cool

but I am very very close to buy one ... maybe one day ... Smile

and after 'some' shots (up to 500) I claim this -- yes! It's very fine!

works perfect with MF lenses ...

You certainly make a great case for it - and so does everyone else who publishes examples of this camera like Orio Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Too sad my meagre budget does not allow for it.

nice series!
interesting that you like this lens so much. I am still undecided with mine even if it scored high in my 85's test

Yes. I know that test. I would say Vario 80-200 is good at the focal lenght approx. 135 mm..

@ my bro's camera: Smile I could buy more contax lenses and no camera yet Smile

I provide some Contax lenses to my brother if he needs some.
So we are quite good team Smile
He loves especially Distagon 4/18 ... Wink

Finally found this thread, the colors and bokeh are to die for! Yep, it's
a Sonnar, and I think it is plenty sharp enough, great shots! Cool

(Camera ain't too bad, either. Wink )

Thanks a lot!
This scene has gorgeous detail, do you have any other shot like this but was taken with a prime?
