I think this may be of most use to UK residents:
Although they don't specialise in older MF equipment, I've had some very good dealing with the London Camera Exchange Group (www.lcegroup.co.uk). They do get MF gear and their secondhand stock is listed on their website, and they do a fast mail-order service. My experience has been that their descriptions are honest to the point of pessimistic. I got a Tamron SP 90/2.5 at a silly price (under £40 complete with NAI mount, delivered) which they said was cosmetically pretty poor but ok for using if I wasn't too fussy. The optics and mechanics turned out to be 100% and the cosmetics by no means distressing. And with a guarantee and the offer to return it for a refund if it was too scruffy for me. As Granny used to say, "You can't beat that with a stick".
Not sure about how they'd handle international sales, but you can always ask. _________________ Stephen
Equipment: Pentax DSLR for casual shooting, Lumix G1 and Fuji XE-1 for playing with old lenses, and Leica M8 because I still like the optical rangefinder system. |
