Does anyone have experience with this lens? I just ordered one and am not finding a lot of reviews on it. Here is the official website for the lens and here and here are a couple of glowing reviews of the lens. From those two reviews it seems to be a little too good for the money so I decided to try yet another 50mm! If anyone has any real world experience I would love to see some results!

I've had him for three years. A very good 50mm for your money, but a manual focus. My samples:

p/s Now I'm selling it because I'm switching to l-mount.

Here's a test I did against the Mamiya EF 50/1.4:

There's little to complain about, it's a very good lens. Only a fairly long MFD (70cm).

EDIT: shorter mfd of 50cm apparently with Sony mnt.

The lens arrived a couple of days early. Initial thought is this is going to be a fun lens. It's also a very heavy bugger! I'm looking forward to playing with this lens more!

Why does M-mount cost $90 more than E-mount?

M-mount https://www.amazon.com/TTArtisan-50mm-F1-4-ASPH-M-Mount/dp/B08HJNV9CN/

The two mounts don't even look like the same lens!

Just guessing, but maybe because it’s a smaller market? I had the M Mount version by the way, because it could fit my Techart Pro AF adapter.

The M mount is made using a different technology, specifically for a rangefinder camera, which is somewhat more expensive, as the manufacturer himself says.

As I do not yet own an M mount adapter I bought the E mount version. I wonder what the weight difference is because this lens is definitely heavy!

The M-mount version requires the rangefinder coupling cam, and that part has to be quite precise. Definitely more expensive to build and calibrate.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thanks for answers!!!

Well if I didn't already have Techart AF adapter I'd consider spending a little more for Sony Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA Lens.
