A much better lens that I expected, maybe because of the SD element? The colours are very saturated, the sharpness is quite good wide open at 28mm and at F/8 is razor sharp. It's a similar story at the long end except it's starts off sharper and reaches it's peak earlier.
The only thing that let's it down for me is the rotating front element but that's not unusual, especially for an older zoom that was never top of the line.
