Does anybody else here have any of the Tokina ATX-PRO lenses? I just bought a 20-35 2.8 (in EX+ condition) from KEH

Glass is perfect - manual focus is great - but the zoom ring seems REAL stiff. Once you get it going its smooth enough, just needs a good amount of torque. Nothing like a canon / nikon that Im used to. Better than being super loose I guess, is this normal? Will it loosen over time? Or should I return to KEH?

I have 16-28 2.8 AF. It have stiff zoom. I bought it brand new in box. It seems to be normal.
In older mf tokinas zoom ring is very smooth cause of push|pull type.

Hello,

I have the same lens as you in Pentax K mount since 6 years and never had the problem you mention of stiff zoom ring . Of course the zoom ring isn´t " loose " , but really not stiff , at least on my copy.

It is really a great lenses and build like a tank . The only problem in my oppinion is the AF/MF switch , because is not easy to operate.
