I have been thinking about buying a tilt adapter for my M42 lenses, just to play with and experience something different. After some brief research there is a large range in prices on these adapters.

Has anyone tried the cheaper adapters or more the more expensive ones and have opinions? Is there a difference between the lowest to the highest priced adapters with what they can and can not do? I am guessing the higher the price the better the quality.

I don't know if it's still relevant but I've used one of the very cheapest ones, and would recommend you get a better model.
Mine has stuck on the Camera a couple of times as the rotation of the tilt mechanism is too free leaving nothing to undo the mount. (Getting it off on the last occasion proved quite awkward even after the lens was taken off the adapter.

At some point I'll get round to stripping the adapter down & see if I can make it work properly.

I have used tilt adapters since nex5 came out. Mine is fotodiox type, not the expensive, but nor the cheapest.
They are relatively sturdy, but there is room for enhancement:
Like most (if not all) the adapter is missing a lock feature.
I want to use it as a regular adapter, but don't want to tilt accidentally.

I use pentax tilt adapter for nex, and m42-K mount adapter, to use with m42. Not all m42 lenses fit firmly.

Thanks for your replies and insights,I guess the only way is to buy one and see for myself...but $40-50 for a potentially non working item Confused I may wait a bit longer and see if there are any improvements.
