Never until now i have connected the name Tessar with Slovenian word tesar meaning something like carpenter in English. Funny in LEO German / English dictionary (which is very good i think) there is no meaning for Tessar word. So the inventor of Tessar spoke Slovene language, hoorah! Slovenians have a bit low self-esteem due to our small number of 2 million.

After some search i have found this great document: http://www.zeiss.de/C125716F004E0776/0/3E640231096E4B6AC125717500672495/$File/Innovation_11_32.pdf
explaining Tessar means four (relating to elements of course) in Greek so there goes my Slovenian tesar theory Smile.

They shouldn't, as they provide great genes Wink (Slovenian-Austro-Hungarian descent)

I doubt we spread our genes much around Smile. Mostly (maybe with exception of Counts of Cilli) foreign genes were imposed upon us.

Thank you LucisPictor for links. I knew there had to be this topic already somewhere on forum.
