I don't know if I've ever seen a picture of the four Konica Hexanon AR UC lenses together. So even if I din't have my home studio up and running I decided to take a snapshot to share with you. Sorry about the poor lighting, it's pitch black outside, and I use the roof lamp with less than optimal results. Anyway, better than nothing and at least the picture should be informative. I'll do better another time.

Lenses:
KONICA UC Fish-eye HEXANON AR 15mm F2.8
KONICA UC HEXANON AR 28mm F1.8
KONICA UC Zoom-HEXANON AR 45-100mm F3.5
KONICA UC Zoom-HEXANON AR 80-200mm F4

Nice...now you just need to find a 400 5.6 to complete the set!

Welcome! I didn't know that 400mm f5.6 was UC also, thanks!

@ Welcome! I didn't know that 400mm f5.6 was UC also, thanks!

That one's easy to overlook. It is extremely rare. In 10 years of looking at Hexanons on Ebay, I've only seen 5. They were all in the $800-$1000 range, except one, which went for BIN $250. Its owner obviously didn't know what he was selling. I just love people like this Smile

PS How does one quote on this forum?

I've been trying to score one of those 400s for 2 years now, no luck yet though. The only UC i own right now is the 15mm - it is a really cool lens, the build quality and design of it are amazing in my opinion. On a crop frame camera, it has limited use given the curvature - I prefer my Tokina 17 3.5 as a wideangle on aps/4/3. I can use it on my 5D mkII for some closeup stuff, but I'm waiting for the FF mirrorless cameras to start showing up - can't wait to use the 15 as it was originally intended.

Yes, thank God for the uninformed Ebayers! I've got some pretty hilarious deals over the years.

Yesterday I got a Mamiya 180 4.5 w-n lens for .99 with free priority shipping. I've got a tracking number so it might actually show up. If it does I may feel a little guilty but.......

Szervusz Attila,

I suspect you mean the 400/f4.5. It goes back to the F-series (high-gloss black finish) and, in AR-mount (satin black finish with rubber covered focusing ring), was made until 1975. It's not common, but they appear every once in a while on Ebay.

The 400/f5.6 was an UC lens. It would seem that it was introduced much later than the other UC lenses, which were introduced in 1975. It was Konica's longest automatic lens and is one of the rarest Hexanons.

Sweet collection! I don't have the 45-100mm f/3.5 (yet), but I did manage to snag a copy of the 400mm f/5.6. I haven't shot the 400mm yet, but it did need some cleaning of haze from the interior elements. I'm expecting it to shoot quite well and have a Vivitar 400mm f/5.6 to compare it with.

Well done!
