TY sir.
I have to weigh the monster. I have nothing that approaches it's weight, even my Vivitar series1 105mm f/2.5 macro--it feels 50% heavier.
Carrying it around the house I feel like frodo with the "ring" hehe. It exudes mystic.
MD mount BTW
Here is a shot compared to FD 135mm f/2 (which i suspect might be better)

Here is current auction of FD 135 f/2
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170570902163&item=170570902163
Found one that sold off a forum, near mint for 245 last spring.
It'll be interesting to see what the current one brings. _________________ Making MFlenses safe for the letter *L* |

Cosmetic variation on very common Yashica/Tomioka 500mm mirror. Often seen as Lentar. Found in many other guises, including Spiratone and Hanimex. Early to mid 70s vintage. _________________ In Search Of "R" Serial Soligors

I like the Tele lens a lot, the wide angel less so but I should test it out again.
The third is a Soligor CD Dualfocal f3.5/28mm + f3.8/35mm with Minolta MD mount, if interested I'll take a photo of it _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

Hey ! I got my first soligar lens not long ago. It has not been listed yet here on the post, so here it is.
For some reason, the picture would show when I preview my post, but not when I submit it? Anyone knows why ?
My serial number is 283681 and it is m42 mount. A very nice preset lens that I enjoy using so far. Could someone tell me who is the manufacturer of this lens ? Anyone else has it ?
Thanks guys! |

Maybe I should have introduced myself. I am a Pentax DSLR shooters. Just started last year but already got hooked for old manual primes. I have tried dozen of lens in the past few months, including some gems. I pretty much check local classified every time, 2 to 3 times a day waiting for the old camera gear. |

Well, I missed it and the new buyer then listed it straight back up again! So I have it here now It's incredibly huge A touch shorter than the Pentacon 300/4.
Lens has a 172xxx serial so I presume it is actually an early 1970s Tokina lens! The lens has three filters built in...one normal and two ND filters to stop the lens down, well slow it at least. The lens is marked as f8, f11 and f16 however.
What a beast! Photos to follow... _________________ Graham - Moderator

The lens is push pull and clicks as you zoom. It has a multi blade preset diaphragm and produces swirly bokeh

I have had one of those for a while, mine serial #571183 but exactly the same as the one pictured. I've searched but never found any info on it. The finish matches the smaller contemporary lenses, so might be Tokina?

This Soligor 17/4 I just received...... Didn't take it out yet..
I have a Soligor 17/3.5 NO.17701621 Tokina-1977, first released in '76.
Didn't use it 'cause it's an MD mount, so i got the 17/4 M42 instead...
I'll be selling the 17/3.5 MD
But i can't figure out this 17/4 serial number NO.11720429
I think this version, was first released in 1973......
And wasen't called "Ultra Wide"
Kinda looks like a Tokina dosen't it ??
Could it be some kind of "pre-release test version" ??
That could explain the first digit.....
I figured it could be a test version, made by Tokina in 1972...
But i'm just speculating..... I really have no idea !
Anyone ??

My memory doesn't recall the details right now but there was a 17mm lens in the Miranda line. There's certainly plenty of evidence of the Tokina 17. I have also seen a 17mm lens credited to Norita Kogaku. Perhaps that is the f-4 version, or maybe the f-4 is the Tokina lens labeled more conservatively.
