Yes, most certainly Tamrons.
The 135/3.5 actually has the same interchangable mount as the 135/4.5, which seems to have been a model for the T-mount.

Yes, the mount is identical! I didn't realize that before now Very Happy

I find these old Soligors to be very good lenses. I have always found Soligor interesting, because of the diversity of lenses. There must be hundreds of different Soligor branded lens variants out there Wink

Don't know. I have #1, but can only guess at the maker - Fujita ?
#2 looks like Kyoei in style

Hmm, that is interesting. I have several Cine (Soligor Elitar) lenses with "Y" in the serial number. I guess there can be some connection?

PostPosted: Thu Jun 27, 2013 2:25 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

Certainly there could be a connection.
I know that there were 1950's Soligor branded lenses made by Fujita, Kyoei, and for that matter Tamron.
Any of these, and of course others too, could have supplied SLR, rangefinder and cine lenses.

Quick question: is the Soligor 2.8/105 (with a silver ring, T-4 + Minolta MD mount) worth buying (40 euros)???

What sort of a question is that? Shocked

If you were on my bread and water budget, I would say no. Sad

But if your circumstances are very different to mine, then it's really not a lot of money and even if it turns out to be no good, you will learn from the experience. I think learning from mistakes has a value. Gaining experience is the same as paying for a proper formal education. Wink

That's the kind of question people ask when there are hardly any examples from this lens..... and 40 euros isn't the amount i'd like to spend just to try it out, because i already have MD 2.5/100 and Meyer 2.8/100.....

The Soligor 105 has shown some excellent imagery.
40 Euros seems quite a reasonable price to me.
If you want it go after it.

Thanks Olivier! Seen that, looks nice, but the lens i am offered is a different one, it has the aperture settings at the bottom.

I am getting curious about this focal length. I love the MD 2.5/100, and the past 2 days i've been playing aroud with the Meyer 2.8/100, and that is extremely nice as well (will post about that when i get home next week).
And now this one popped up...... (that GAS..... somebody help me!)

What about the zoom mc soligor 75/150 f/3,5 with serial number 37xxxxx?

Anybody knows?

PostPosted: Fri Jun 28, 2013 11:36 am    Post subject: Reply with quote

Most late Soligors are made either:
by SUN: http://forum.mflenses.com/soligor-3-my-sun-zoom-family-t54946.html
by Kobori: http://forum.mflenses.com/soligor-9-thy-name-shall-any-more-be-called-kiron-but-kobori-t54945,highlight,+soligor.html
or Tokina which usually starts with serial number 1.

Yours should be SUN.

BTW, That catalog shows at least four different manufacturers, and possibly more.

Tokina
Tamron
Kawakami/Kawanon
Sun (chrome ears presets seem to have been ID'ed as Sun)

Soligor's chrome ears presets are made by different manufacturers, for example this one seems not to be made by Sun. May be Tokina despite the M before 17 in s/n ?

Thanks a lot.

It seems better to let it go.

Really useful, thanks! So the really long lenses were simple doublets... Shocked

One leaflet seems to be mistaken. Here from another thread http://forum.mflenses.com/tokina-600-8-preset-t59542.html

8/600mm: 3 elements in 3 groups.
8/800mm: 4 elements in 2 groups.

Never heard of this big guy before. Vivitar, Noritar, yes, but Soligor, no.
Beautiful piece of glass and metal!
Thanks for sharing.

I had a sun zoom 65/130 or so.

It had high contrast, strong colors -saturated. But no much resolution.

The soligors sun lenses have similar rendering?

Welcome Richard.
When you take some images it would be great to see a picture of your lens and its results.
