I am not familiar with this lens. How is the optical quality? Any difference between the adaptall 2 and AF versions?

My memory is that my AD2 was not at all bad, nice to have the f2.8. Unfortunately I cannot find the photos I took with it. However the ergonomics, especially the loose one touch zoom and the weight (causing it to hang down and slide to max zoom), made it less than fun to use. I need to give it another try to decide if the image quality justifies its irritations.

I think a lot of the earlier AF tamrons are just adaptall-2 in an autobody. I have a 90mm Tamron AF model 72E which really just is a reskinned 52BB. The only complain I had was AF was loud and slow. Probably similar with this conversion. I will keep an look on ebay.

I managed to pick one up recently but the weather has not been cooperating. Brief indoor tests on the A7 reveal good centre sharpness but the corners are all over the place at 24mm. (less so at 48mm)

For those who have shot the 13A or shoot regularly with the lens on full frame, any comments on the corners at wide open at 24mm? I'm having trouble figuring out whether my copy is decentered or that the design exhibits field curvature.

So far limited testing in my room focused at the center, the bottom corners are noticeably worse vs the upper corners. Like mush.
and definitely worse than the 24/2.5 01BB prime which seemed consisted at all corners. When I focus the 13A at one of the corners, all corners look the same. (< why i'm confused.)

Thanks in advance for your time!
