Took a few minutes today to play with my mirror. If's definately not as sharp as a regular lens, but it's still fun to play with.

I had a play with mine the other day, it's rare I get suitable weather, even for tripod use!

It's not as sharp as a normal lens, but good for it's type.

At the pixel level it's quite soft on my panny g1 but the pixel pitch has a lot to do with it, on my canon 350d with larger pixels the sharpness at 100% is superior.

Even on the G1, the images are sharp when resized to 2500 pixels wide, enough for an acceptable A4 print.

I have the 55b which I was lead to believe was inferior for close up work but it seems to do fine.

I've now got two copies of the 55bb after seeing one at a local dealers at a very silly price. The latest one - which was almost unused - is noticeably sharper than my first, which surprised me as I thought my first one was pretty good. So, as ever, there may well be quite a bit of copy variation, although I've generally found Tamron to be fairly consistent (excluding duds).
