I didn't try. I have 2 135mm lenses (Jupiter 37AM and this TAIR 11A), I'm gonna to buy 2-3 more and than I'll prepare a test (quick-test ).
I didn't compare them directly, both of them have excellent bokeh - I'd say Jupiter has soft bokeh and TAIR painted-like... _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

One copy is in local auction. I'll buy it if the price won't be too high. I can offer the lens to you, if its the condition will be good. But this lens is 2nd most expensive M42 135mm lens in local market (only Sonnar is more expensive)... So if you are interested, please let me know which price is acceptable for you. _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

I could be interested but I need to know the final price including shipping to Portugal.
I think that 20 blades would be cool to do some portraits with creamy bokeh.
I have one friend interested too so I'll need one for sure
If you could get some pictures of it I'll be glad.
Many thanks |

I don't know. I bought it together with 2 other lenses and one SLR (inheritance, people mostly refuse to sold items separately). Mine is in good condition, but it needed repair - somebody repaired it and assembled it in a wrong way (preset ring didn't work properly), so it cost me additional money.
The last one in local auction was slightly over £55. _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |

some people tell me that Tair11 "white" M39 is better that "black" M42 version. but I can't compare because haven't "white" version. may be in future. |
Better is always relative, different that for sure I have it also in past.

I consider these two as the best M42 135mm tele lenses I have ever tried. You can't go wrong with any of them
Jupiter is sharper at f/3.5 and f/4, but its color rendition isn't constant amongst all samples: Different Jupiters have different coating colors - classic version has purple coating, version with CCCP quality mark has deep violet coating, MC version is purple and green... So different version can have different colors...
Anyway, Jupiter is highly underrated - if we consider price of TAIR, Sonnar, Trioplan (or other lenses which are in demand), Jupiter is much cheaper, but in many ways, it is at least as good... _________________ (almost) complete list of Helios lenses |
