Hi, I'm new to posting in this forum but i've come to read from time to time before.
I am wondering if someone could shed some light on the Super Varexon/Carenar lenses.

I have a Super Varexon 135mm 2.8 and have been wondering who made it.

I have seen the same style lenses under the Super Carenar brand in focal lengths 300mm (F5.5), 28mm (F3.5) and 35mm (F2.Cool, oddly no 50mm.

From what i have read on this forum it might be Sankor http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic.php?t=39601 but it is quite hard to come across an information about them as well.

As you can see, i have the same lens. First time i see another one! Never knew about a link to carenar however.... are you sure they are the same lenses?? Remembered immediately when i saw the name Super Varexon.

I must admit: i have never really used this one, it's been standing on a shelf ever since i bought it, it came in a large lot of lenses from a photoshop that went out of business, so it's mint. Did some quick shots a long time ago, from what i remember it was pretty sharp, but i'll give it a go soon, now you got me got curious.....

I haven't tried it enough to develop any pictures yet but i like the lens for some reason, it's kinda heavy and compact and feels good.

There is also a multicoated version of the lens so it was in production long enough for an update.

The lettering reminds me of the Sankyo/Sankor YS lenses.
