Been there, quite full, but also much better equipment to be seen than at Houten fair a few days ago. Also seen quite some $$$$($) equipment (nice Contax/Zeiss + Leitz/Leica as well as MF cameras). Quite a few buyers and not just lookers. Found a few nice bargains incl. a very rare, unlabeled lens made by Pentacon for a very special DDR (GDR) 35mm supervision camera, sold as a microscope condensor, new in box.

(sorry, just bad iPhone4 pics)

Most welcome Attila. I "had to" go there, it is kind of a ritual, as I studied there and also was assistant professor there, about 10 years in total.

My girlfriend was a baby sitter in Darmstadt that was first German city what I did visit 25 yrs ago impression about Germany was extremely good due traffic jams I did drive on second class roads. I never seen similar beautiful country side ever than South Germany. Driving experience also was awesome German drivers were most polite drivers what I ever met. I always cry it back in when I see brain less idiots here in Budapest.

Klaus, I almost went there, too.
I could not go to Solms on Saturday, so I was thinking about going to Darmstadt instead. But I had to pick up my parent from the airport today and take them to Limburg. Marburg - Frankfurt - Limburg - Darmstadt - Marburg would have been silly.
(For those, who are not familiar with German geography: down south - up north - down south - up north...)

Thanks for the short report. I definitely will go there one day.

The remaining fairs this year are all too far away from our place: Kirchzarten, Hamburg, Köln-Mülheim, Leipzig, Berlin, Hannover.

Most welcome! For me it was 45km drive, as compared to 450km to Houten!!

have been there - for me the number of offers in medium format was impressive, but i am not (yet) familiar with these fairs. I know better Oldtimer and machine fairs. Bought a dirty Schneider 5.5 200mm - will see how it works, a 28mm Takumar like new, a lot of 1.- € parts and a new Berlebach Mini for a good price. The overall pricing, as far as I recognized the lenses, was comparable to ebay level, the camera bodies, i think were cheaper than on ebay.
