I have a possibility to buy this adapter for cheap, but I have no idea what is it good for...

Hi there, no-x !

Looks like an old Exakta D ring - a short extension tube for Exa and Exakta cameras - I think it gives a 5mm extension. It would have been used particularly with some of the longer focal lengths that didn't focus closer than 6 to 8 feet.

The box looks original, and it will date from the late 50s or early 60s.

The Exakta extension tube set was made of a pair of front and rear bayonet rings with a set of screw threaded tubes to go in between - a bit slow to use. That's why there was this handy little gadget as well.
