Hi guys,
just been making some space by clearing out unwanted images from my now overloaded hard disk and came across this one that I'd forgotten about.
I took it one evening while testing out the Nikon Series E 75-150 - nothing to get excited about, just a couple of glasses, a bottle of wine and an artificial rose for props.
The light source was from one of those tiny cheap 8 watt halogen desk-lamp bulbs - I slung a thin bamboo screen from a boom arm and placed the lamp behind it to shine through and onto the props placed on some grey paper which was used as the background. It only took about 2 - 3 minutes to set up.
The exposure was 30 seconds @ f32, user defined WB, around 75mm focal length and the camera used was a D200. I didn't have to do anything to the image other than crop it as it was already sharp and the exposure was just right.
I love this little lens - it's so versatile! Great for portraits and tight head shots. Bokeh is excellent, contrast and colours are just right from it too. It has to be the best value and useable lens from the Nikon 'E' series! One of the benefits of the 75-150 is the constant aperture of f3.5 - sharp wide open and the aperture doesn't change as the focal length is extended as with many inexpensive zooms.
Regards...
Tony
