All taken with Nikon D700 and Nikkor 85 mm f/1.4 AIS lens.

#1 At f/2


#2 At f/2. My daughter´s cat is attending the proceedings


#3 At f/2


#4 At f/4


#5 I tried a version of a Josef Sudek pic with a bottle and a slice of melon, but then the cat jumped on the table. Actually, I like this version more. At f/5.6. The background is blurred in PP.

Beautiful still-lifes! All great, but my faves #,2 and #3.
#2 the cat at the backround really makes the picture and #3 is just so beautiful and harmonic minimalistic composition with that backrounds painting like blur..
Great work, so please keep on going also with these kinds Markku!

Thank You Hemmo,

in the first three, I was experimenting, is it possible to use a fast lens to blur the background enough. With my 85 mm lens, only at f/2 the background was satisfactory, but then the DOF is also very thin. A balancing act, really.
