Wow that second one really pops!. I enjoy a little crosseye stereo myself. here is a sampler. So I don't hijack your post I've made one of my own. I'll edit a link into this later.

What were the bases for the photos, i.e the L-R distance between the two shots. Tell us how you did it.

Nice one!

Can't remember exactly what it was, the first some 5cm or so, the second more like 50cm apart.

Cool. Makes the scene look like a diorama. That would make sense due to proportionally wider eye spacing. With a large aperture lens you can do a focus stack and artificially adjust the scene depth. Not sure how it would look with such a scene.

Macro is IMO the best application of 3D, but then again I am a macro guy. Bugs are another great use of the technique. Small things that you can't normally see with your own two eyes are really cool in macro, and become fascinating in 3D.

These larger photos are indeed harder to see, but all you need to do is move your head back away from the screen until the amount you need to cross your eyes becomes comfortable.

Yes Ray, macro is very beautiful especially beetles etc.. I'm so used to that, I fuse 1920 pix easily, but backing off from the monitor usually helps immediately.
