Hello everyone, this is my first post and topic on this forum. I recently purchased this lens so i was wondering, how can i adapt it on EOS M? I see adapters on ebay, but some of them note that "auto" lenses with hand on the side can not be adapted with them.
Also i was wondering how much does it worth? I see prices one ebay around 500-700 us dolars, but what do you think?
Here are the pictures of the lens -

Hi and welcome!
Nice lens! This adapter should work. You just have to lock the arm in active position. The arm contains automatic aperture and manual, you want to use manual with the adapter

Steinheil lenses are quite popular and can reach good prices. I would say perhaps $400 if the glass is good. Was it the Helios-44 5.8cm f/2 silver in the bundle? _________________ Lars | Manuellfokus.no |

Nice, I never had the m39 version of this lens. Just remember that this lens is made for SLR (Zenit) and not rangefinder. You can mount this with an m42 to Canon M adapter + a tiny m39 to m42 ring to put on the lens.

Yes, I have already ordered m39-m42 ring. It is very rare here in Serbia, and I wanted to buy it for long time. I will post some pictures from this lens as soon adapter arives. Steinheil will have to wait our Asian brothers to ship it in container |

PS. I found a way, the switch has to be on manual, but still it is little harder to move the rings, both for focus and aperture. Can it bi fixed to go smoothly? |

Welcome to the forum!
That looks like a nice lens. I have one myself but it is very hazy so I haven't used it much, but it's going for a cleaning right now.i really like the rendering and warm colors I saw tho.
It is very common for older, especially German lenses, for the aperture and focus rings to stiffen up after time. It is not a huge problem. It is very simple, you should have the lens what is called CLA'd- cleaned, lined, and adjusted. The lens is well worth the money, and it should be around 50 dollars, but since you are in Serbia might be hard to find someone without having to pay major shipping.i would ask around on forum or on the Internet to see if there is someone close to you.
I would say after a cleaning the lens can be worth up to $400, so depending how much you paid for it, it is a great lens.

Thanks, it seems like very interesting lens. I am trying to find someone who is fixing manual lenses here, but it will take time. Thanks for your help, if I decide to sell it, I could contact you, or post it here on forum. I dont think shipping will be much of a problem, but I have to ask around about it. I paid it around 200 USD with Helios silver mentioned above.
Best regards! |

Since i did not get the camera yet to test silver Helios, today arived m39-m42 ring, and did not fit - it was the same size as mount, so my conclusion is that this is m42 version of this lens. I was reading some topics on this forum, and people say that they did not made silver Helios 44 in m42 version. Is this true? |
