This is what the lens looks like:

And here are some example shots (all handheld):

That is what it looks like on a classic rangefinder cam:

The Culminar 135 renders quite nicely, but loses contrast when used in sunlight. It definitely needs a hood!

Otherwise it is not far away from the Leica Hektor 4.5/135 and much more affordable!!

Nice series from a nice lens, it's brother 135mm f2.8 one of the best 135mm what I did ever try.

Very Nice lens and very good pictures.
I had this in Exakta mount - overall pretty good lens.
Only small remark is that the bokeh in distant background is not as smooth as with the Sonnars.

Thanks guys.

I bought the lens to compare it with my Leica Hektor-M 4.5/135.
That is going to be an interesting shoot-out. Wink

I have watched your imagen taken with the culminar.

They are excelents. I like all of them.

Thanks for sharing.

IfI don't remember in the wrong way, the Hektor have a similar schame than the Heliar (Voigtlander). Different to the culminar.

It's true that the culminar images are fantastic, but my 2 cents go for the Leica lens. Wink

I agree!

I guess I will sell this Culminar 4.5/135 when I come back, because I also have got a Leitz Hektor-M 4.5/135 and I don't need both.
But this Steinheil lens has surprised me, because it is almost as good as the Leica!

Hi,

If i remember well, the whole optical group of this lens can be unscrewed from the barrel, to allow mounting on a bellows ... Have you tested it this way too ?

Yes we saw the same ! Laughing

On "le bon coin" the ad is dated march 16th and is 120€.
On ebay , it's dated may 1st and it is 100€. Maybe he sells on ebay because he didn't manage on le boncoin and so decided to lower the price ?

No. And I wouldn't sell it here for €120,- - not even for €100,-.
I think that is too expensive.

My price would be €70,- (plus shipping).
