Virtually identical to the Spotmatic II but with the addition of an Automatic Flash sensor for the Honeywell 772 and 882 Auto Strobonar series of Strobe flashes.
Here it is pictured as I received it dust dirt and all. Very little paint missing and no dents that I can find. Bought for $14.00 US plus shipping cost.

Everything works and the light seals seem to be in good condition. Needs film run through it to be sure and a good cleaning.

Nice find BD! Rare too. Gerjan estimates there were only 22,000 Spotmatic IIa made, compared to nearly half a million Spotmatic II.

Thanks everyone.

Yes it is rarer as it was only produced for the US market. I did find a small dent in the prism cover and a few spots of trim paint missing. Other than that it is pristine.

Now to get an 882 or 772 Strobonar flash to make the kit complete. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Great find. My favourite all-manual camera.

And to think they sold this as a parts camera... Shocked

So many inexperienced people buy them at estate sales and then sell them as parts cameras. They would rather sell them this way than take a chance on bad feed back.
