Wanted to go with lens for video, so i got this one due to power motor for focal length, and fact that it's internal focusing, so not sticking out and it looks bad ass on the camera lol.
Switched from NEX-5T to a6300 for 4K video support and i must say it was ton more options including ways of using this lens in manual focus which is nice, NEX-5T on other hand has very dumbed down version of software.
Regarding the lens, i've read horror stories about terrible quality control of Sony and other brands, so was bit scarred to buy expensive lens without knowing how to test it so i learned about different tests and got into testing as soon as i got it, de-centering wise its there slightly on wide angle, but nothing terrible bad, would not have very high expectations for a zoom anyways in regards of image sharpness.

Auto-focus works great forward/back focus not an issue.
18mm
53mm
105mm (this is correct focus, tried to manually focus so DoF in equally distributed across middle line and then battery label gets blurred)
At first i was very puzzled images seemed to be very soft and out of focus, guess was user error, not sure what exactly i did wrong, but i guess i used center focus and then frame the shot which could have set optical stabilization off or something anyway another issue i was looking at monitor without my glasses this as i found out couple days ago gives same effect as photo being out of focus... Anyway after starting to use flexible focus point and reviewing photos after taking them i know get pretty decent results with this lens.
Yes the lens is i think mainly intended for video so its not super sharp, but i have not owned more "modern" zooms to compare with and my manual zooms are bit off de-centered (after me servicing them).
JPG straight from the camera, they might look softer as i have set in camera Contrast: -3 Saturation: 0 Sharpness: -3
