I have had a lot of fun recently with 'old school' Takumar lenses on my Pentax DSLR. The APS-C format (16x24mm) does not exploit the wide FOV of the 20mm fully, but otherwise I find it great fun:
Super-Takumar 55mmF2.0 at approx. F4.0:
SMC-Takumar 85mmF1.8 - portrait:
SMC-Takumar 85mmF1.8 - blue hour I:
SMC-Takumar 85mmF1.8 - blue hour II:
Super-Takumar 20mmF4.5 - blue hour III (1600 iso):
And another couple of Super-Takumar 20mmF4.5 "misty morning" shots I:
Super-Takumar 20mmF4.5 - "misty morning" II:

Thank you for you nice words, wintoid and montecarlo.
It is so great that it is possible to use these older lenses even today, and with good results. _________________ Pentax K-5, Auto110, Spotmatic F, ME Super, MX, SuperA, MZ3, 645N, 6x7MLU, Mamiya C330, Zeiss Super Ikonta 531/16 |

In #3, how did you do the yellow window in the reflection? Or is it a lack of yellow in the actual window? |

The cat shot is amazing! First you see only the upper half and think "nice, but rather boring" and then you see the cat and BANG! the shot comes alive!! Wow!
The yellow colour in the reflection is probably the setting sun which is not visible in the direct angle to the window. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

The picture is more or less straight from the camera - very little PP. The window in the water reflects the orange sky with the setting sun, whereas the normal window pane doesn't reflect the sky, but shadow below it ... It intrigued me at the time, that's why I took the picture _________________ Pentax K-5, Auto110, Spotmatic F, ME Super, MX, SuperA, MZ3, 645N, 6x7MLU, Mamiya C330, Zeiss Super Ikonta 531/16 |

Thank you for your nice comments.
I have posted another "misty morning" thread with another shot of the cat on the road here: http://forum.mflenses.com/super-takumar-20mm-4-5-misty-morning-t15803.html
In a way I like the version I posted today better, because the cat is bigger here.
You are right about the yellow reflection. _________________ Pentax K-5, Auto110, Spotmatic F, ME Super, MX, SuperA, MZ3, 645N, 6x7MLU, Mamiya C330, Zeiss Super Ikonta 531/16 |
