This item has been on ebay for months now. He says its an enlarger lens board. Not like any type I've seen.

I have no idea, but old Devere enlargers had a similar green craquelure finish.

looks more like it is from some sort of jail

Looks like where the tube goes for the enlarger head.

Cheers to the author for giving me some solid ideas

Ideas? share.

I've taken another look at this intriguing object It could be the part where the column goes through but its a square about the size of a CD case. Its the wrong shape too. The hole would be about 30mm diameter looking at the photo, that's awfully thin for an enlarger column.

I had an old "Federal" enlarger that had a strong, round, aluminum column that wasn't much bigger than that. So it's not impossible...

I think "he says its an enlarger lens board".

Its patently not

It is odd looking indeed but one thing is for sure is I doubt it is a lens board. Honestly it look like a column base. The base is screwed onto the baseboard and a round column goes through it. It looks like it could go on an enlarger of this vintage:

I think that too. I'm just curious as to what it is. Which enlarger is the next question?
