I got the lens a few days ago. The front and rear glass was clean and outer cosmetic condition of the lens was near mint, but one of the inner elements was heavily covered with fungus and/or haze.

I thought the lens was ruined, but I was able to open the lens, and I found all the fungus on one exposed inner element. I carefully cleaned it first with alcohol, then with acetone.

I was able to remove all of the haze and about 90% of the fungus, only some very faint traces remained, but I didn't want to use too much force when cleaning because I didn't want to rub off the lens coating. After soaking in alcohol for an hour, some more fungus came off.

Using lithium grease, I lubricated it lightly, and tested the lens. Here are the results of testing with a Leica M9:
