This is the first time I make a test, I don't really know how to compare in right way.

Sigmatel f1.8

Crop 100%:

and Sigmatel f2.8

Vivitar f2.3:

Looks sharper than your Vivitar at f4 or f8, and at f1.8 it does not look bad even with the glow. I am sure it would be a great portrait lens!

Both look ok at F4 on. The WB is colder on the Vivitar.

Looks as though the Sigma is slightly overexposing @ each stop...

The bushes in the background on the 100% crop of the Vivitar @2.3 look sharper to me than the stone pillar. Slightly misfocused?

Probably because its actually passing more light through than the Vivitar at each f-stop Wink

I would say so too...The Sigmatel needs very critical focussing for best results. I also noticed that the Vivitar has more CA at f2.3 than the Sigmatel has wide open.
