Yes, it is a tempting review!
Thank you for the link, Klaus!

Is this some form of Germanic sarcasm I don't understand?

I read the review and the camera sounds terribly overpriced considering it's many flaws like the outdated screen an the slow write times.

Or am I missing the point? it has been known to happen! Smile

Of course, I would like to try one of these monos for myself, it is an interesting concept. It would have to be very good indeed to persuade me to put aside my Contax and rolls of Tech Pan. Smile

No.
My EOS 5D has an outdated screen and slow memory writing as well.
I am most likely will not buy such a Leica - too expensive. I have no single lens or camera that exceedes 1000 Euro price.
And I don´t want to change this.
Only at work I work with 20 times more expensive cameras - partly with monochrome sensor. And I like this simple design without Bayer filters, debayering to get colors for every pixel, and after that calculate monochrome images out of color data.

Furthermore I have tested Leica M6 or such a camera - it is not my kind of photography tool.

For the price of one, I could buy a lifetime supply of FP4 and Pan F 50 probably.

Contax, Biogon and a nice film is more than good enough for me. Smile

I had the chance to shoot with one recently and boy, if I had the money at hand, I would instantly buy one!!
The images you get are breathtaking (esp. with the new APO-Summircon 50 which was mounted! Shocked Shocked )

I don't think it is so easy choice between film and the Monochrom;) You must also count electricity cost to run the freezer for your film.
