I've recently came across this very interesting (for me) lens, I've seen many PrinzGalaxy 135mm ƒ3.5 on sale, but never a ƒ2.8, so I decided to pick it up.

It has 17 blades (hope I counted right) and it comes with a Pentax bayonet mount.

I'm quite new to manual lenses, but I noticed that the bayonet can be unscrewed, what is this for?

Here's a couple of shots with the lens, I'm still waiting for the adapter to come, so I had to take these by just keeping the lens in fron of the camera (550D).

Wide open at MFD.

At ƒ8.

Crop of the above.

That is a T mount lens, the mount is interchangeable. You can get a T mount adapter for most any body fairly cheap, usually under $10, for a little more you could get one that has the chip in it for your Canon's AF confirmation.

I was quite impressed by a Prinzflex I owned.
Is it the same brand as PrinzGalaxy ?
I like old diaphragms with a lot of blades like this one.

The wide open shot is good !

Prinz Galaxy and Prinzflex were the store brand of Dixons in the UK, they were also of very varying quality as well. In a range of lenses such as 135mm I've seen many different versions, I guess they just bought whatever they could at the time for the cheapest price, so they do seem to be a lottery.

Thank you Lloydy.

So, we have to look for the real maker when we look at a PrinzGalaxy or Prinzflex.
Kind of Sherlock Holmes query. Wink
