Hi folks,

Just bought a Prakticar Pentacon F4-5.6 70-210mm Zoom lens for a few English pounds on EBay. I am using it on a Sony 5N. I already had a Pentacon 50mm F1.8 which I love for flower close-ups (33 cm closest focus).

My question about the zoom is this: how do I access the 1:4.7 Macro setting? Sorry if this is an idiot question, but I'm a slow learner!

Scottish Camera.

Isn't the close-focus on this lens accessed simply by extending the zoom to full length and then rotating the focus to minimum?
It's only rated at 1:4 'macro' or thereabouts, so minimum focus will still be a metre or so.
FWIW, these lenses were (usually?) made in Japan, so, whilst being perfectly serviceable, are unlikely to have any of the "magic" of a Carl Zeiss or Meyer Optik original Wink
