I've just got my hands on a literally mint MTL 50 and the metering appears to be working fine (readings match those on a DSLR just about) but what I've found is that when the shutter speed is going under the 1/8 to 1/4 mark the metering light cuts out.

Is this meant to happen? Other than that the metering is working great; the battery contacts were clean despite the original Praktica battery still being in there. (dead alas..)
