I´m really happy with my SMC Takumar 24mm f/3.5. Although it is much slower then all of the previous choices it is quite sharp wide open and gets better when stopped down.

Has anyone tried the PEN-F 25/4. Tiny lens, and can be found for not too much money. Could not find much info. |
received it today. It is tiny, just about the same size as the f1.8/38
a close focus / wide open sample:
( see original size: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/7112508611/sizes/o/in/photostream/ )
from what I can tell from my first test shots is sharp, like it's big brother OM 2.8/24 amazes with great border sharpness, like the Pen-F 2.8/25 impresses with very little distortion. My copy does not have the same 'light bleeding' problem of my Pen-F f2.8/25 and my 3.5/20I described above ( will have those cleaned / serviced and hope that will improve them too )
if you find one for not much money I would grab it! - actually I was surprised to read that you find some offered for not much money. Even here in Japan these Pen-F lenses are offered at amazingly high prices, in a shop I saw one for over 500 usd, a 2.8/25 for abt. 750 usd, I am not kidding! _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

I guess I was exaggerating a bit when I wrote "not too much money" but I've seen them sell for quite a bit less than the 500 USD price tag you saw in the shop. Lovely picture and that's smooth bokeh for an f4 lens. _________________ Follow this link for my FOR SALE list (partially updated 19.11.2015) |

the Pen-Fs focus much closer than rangefinder lenses typically do, the f4/25 down to 25cm vs. I believe 50 cm of the cv Skopar _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |

see fast and dirty had held test shots ( sorry for the tilt, for reference roughly aligned the post along the left side ) from out of the window at infinity @f4, f5.6, f8 and f11 here: http://www.ipernity.com/doc/119815/album/269955?with=12587412
only WB and exposure somewhat corrected in LR, no sharpness added nor vignetting or other corner issues corrected
the f8 size reduced and somewhat sharpened:

I own two 24/2.8 lenses: Minolta Rokkor MC and Konica Hexanon .I love them both , even if I used the Hexanon mostly ,because the size and weight.
If size and weight is important , Zuiko 24/2.8 _________________ Cheers , Teo

I ended up buing a Zuiko Pen-F 25/4 which is on it's way. Good condition with the rare original hood S-45 (fits 38/1.8 and 40/1.4 as well). Unfortunately no caps or case. Will probably have to buy aftermarket caps as the original are so expensive. So now I have 25/42/60mm, maybe I should get the 100mm as well to complete the set _________________ Follow this link for my FOR SALE list (partially updated 19.11.2015) |

congratulations on the Pen-F f4/25mm, a great little lens!
and WOW, how much I envy you for the 42 and 60mm, very fast, very rare and very expensive lenses!
I am most curious to see photos taken with them!!
the 100mm is a very good performer, I recommend it _________________ my photos on flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kuuan/collections |
