Hey everyone. So I bought a 400mm 6.3 Auto Tele-Lentar. Based on some searching I assumed it was the same as the Spiratones, Tele-Astranar, etc.. My research shows those use T Mounts, but what I'm seeing doesn't appear to be a T Mount. I've never used a T mount but what I've read is it screws on/off (similar to an M42)

I took some photos (below) to show.
- The first (bottom) ring spins ~90 degrees.
- The second ring does not move.
- The third ring opens/closes the aperture
- The fourth (top) controls the F stop

There are two small screws that hold the last ring on, but removing that does not expose a usable mount. My first though was the second ring may be stuck and removing it would expose the T mount, but it is really stuck on there. I'm afraid i'll damage the lens if I try with much more force.

Anyone know what i'm working with here? I can take more photos if it helps.

Thanks in advance

Make sure the three screws are tight and the mount should unscrew - it looks like a Canon FD to T2 mount.

+1

Definitely, Canon FD mount on the bottom, and I would expect it to be not a native mount, but rather an adapter from some other mount. The native mount is not necessarily T2. I have similar style Soligor with some non-T screw mount (around 52mm) and adapter to FD on top of it.

Thanks for the advise! Unfortunately the screws had already stripped out the inner ring and no amount of tightening would help. Luckily I was able to loosen it using a pair of pliers.

I'm going to order a T2 -> EOS mount and try this thing out Smile Hopefully its a T2 and not a native mount.

That is not a T2 mount, not with that pin.
If the pin operates the diaphragm then I would guess it could be a standard M42 mount.

I would tend to agree it is M42; the T-adapter for FD was probably forced on the M42 thread...

YS mount looks like M42, but has T-mount threads. I don't think this is YS mount lens...

The pin does look like M42. It certainly could have had a T mount forced on, it's happened before.

Thanks again everyone. I tried my m42 adapter and it worked perfectly!
