All,

thanks for your input on these lenses. If you also could make a very short comment on why a specific lens is good; like 'sharp' or 'good mojo', that would be marvelous.

I'm looking for these lens lists for two reasons: to learn that they exists in the first place and it helps me to decide which lenses that I want to test for myself that fits my budget.

Again, much appreciated!

So, to my list. Well, given that I've only been doing this since February or so there's only one in there while I'm testing the others:

~135mm

Nikkor 135/2 - sharp and good contrast

oh don't you worry, I've got some lenses in the queue that doesn't seem to be too strong performers: Auto Chinon 135 and 28/2.8 Wink

... and by strong performers I mean of course that they don't stand out from the crowd in any area. Good quality for a good price, I expect nothing more.

I wait a oly 28:2 @89eur and a kiron 28:2 @39eur just because I am curious Rolling Eyes I bet the kiron will be better than the oly
I guess most here buy lens by curiosity, not to find something better otherwise they would get only Nikkor & Zeiss

Everyone: Thanks for the welcome!

Patrickh : My favorite Minolta body is my XD11 which sees the most use.
Which lenses are you looking for samples from? If I don't already have one online I'll scan one and post it. It's a shame my Rokkors won't mount on my Nikon and Canon DSLR's.
Richard

Apart from the lens mounting ring kit described earlier or butchering the Minolta mount of the lens, all solutions to mounting Rokkor glass onto Eos and Nikon either require glass elements (teleconverter) and lose optical quality or lose infinity focus. I've been tinkering with ways of putting my Minolta glass on my Canon DSLR and now I've got a number of adapter rings from Minolta-SR to Canon Eos. The thickest one loses the most in the way of infinity focus but is the most convenient to use, the thinnest one doesn't add any distance between lens and camera so this combination acts just as a 0,5mm extension ring (difference in register between Minolta and Canon). With a 400mm I can focus to infinity, with wideangles I can't..

With Olympus DSLRs you can get a glassless adapter if you can live with the 2x crop factor.

The XD series is very nice, I love the shutter sound. A X500 with MD-1 is the nicest combo to handhold I've used so far..
