the lens is very sharp wide open but the CA is really awful on bright/contrasty objects...

Hi Igor,
You have some very nice shots there. Looks like your Pentax K11s performs well for you.
I thought about getting one but opted for the Pentax K-50. The K-50 does just about everything I need in a camera.
Maybe when I am a little more proficient I will get the top of the line.
Again, they are all lovely pictures.
Regards,
Gavin |
thanks much Gavin.
Pentax has a style of it's own, I love their IQ since K-20D, my first Pentax body.
Still waiting for a full frame, as almost every pentaxian does |

yes, your right, the CA is pretty disappointing, but IMO the 200/2.5 beats the Tammy 180/2.5 in wide open sharpness, I have both and will keep both
thank you. |

Pentax are the dark horse of DSLR's
Much under-rated and IMHO the great over achievers of digital imaging.
Great work again Igor

Oh |
sure ! the K-3 IQ is really amazing ! I'd sell my K-5 IIs and buy a K-3, but love my "5" too much and have a strong feeling Pentax will release TWO full frames this year, something similar to Sony A7 and A7r... 24/36mp |

Don't hold your breath Igor ...... I am like you and millions (thousands,... hundreds?) of Pentaxians and would like to see a FF Pentax in 2014. I think that the success of the 645D will slow the introduction of a FF Pentax.
Maybe in 2015

oh no not Pentax forums! The amount of times i have been "ADMIN'D" from some bull sh1t crap deep in there rule book. .. gah.
as for FF. Pfffffffff APS-C= free depth!
/end FF rant.
There is a 200mm f2.5. let me get my calculator...
Pentax 200mm f2.5, 0.9kg
@20m = 100cm of acceptable depth
@10m = 25cm
@5m = 6cm
@3m = 2cm
Soviet Tair 3 300mm f4, 1.4kg
@20m = 80cm of acceptable depth
@10m = 19cm
@5m = 5cm
@3m = 2cm
Nope. The Tair 3 is better at blurring fences then a 200mm f2.5

I agree Pentax make great cameras,film or digital and superb lenses but their Forum mods. are a bunch of uptight holier than thou nuts.I have the honour of being banned twice for daring to voice my opinion.Their Market place for sales stinks and this prohibits members from obtaining good bargains as sellers do not like Forum rules. As for FF 35mm .....dream on. _________________ Do not trust Atoms....they make up everything. |
