My pancolar 50 has a really stiff foc. ring. Thought i could get used to it by time but it really gets me mad when shooting.
I never opened a lens or a camera but if it's not something too hard, i'm willing to give it a try. Otherwise i will just quit using it..

Did anyone try lubricating this kind of stiff ring before? Any advice on how to do it?

It's very much worth doing if you feel confident about it. You'll need a set of jeweller's screwdrivers, a rubber glove and a ring thing (such as a tin lid) which slides inside the filter threads, and maybe a magnifying glass. Is yours the black or the zebra version?

You can do it man!
It is actually one of the less stressful lens operations.
It is a good idea to have a camera handy to photograph your steps.
This way you have a visual reference to re-assemble things.
I use lighter fluid on a rag to clean out the old grease.
You may want to search some tutorials online for this job.
You may even find one on YouTube.
Also make sure you use a nice lite grease to re-lube the Heli.
White Lithium is the most commonly advised if I remember correctly. SPARINGLY applied
If this is the kit you picked up for $40 you did really well. It looks nice Very Happy

Yep, this is the 40$ kit.. Smile

Ok, i now really think that i should do it.. It'll come handy if anybody has a good link about this in your bookmarks.. Meanwhile i'll search and see what i can find..

Thanx
