Hello !
I used to have one of these some years ago :
http://forum.mflenses.com/tubbingen-with-lumix-fx20-t44089.html
I don't know if these results are clear enough ,but I can tell it was very handy , light , good for travel . A good lens ,and good focal range for travel , IOS good enough . good results up to 400 ISO

Not very good for fast action (like all compacts)- but you didn't sold your reflex, isn't it?
I think it's dimensions are pretty ressembling with the G1. The EVF wasn't very good , I used to focus on the back LCD . Good AF .
If you want ,I'll send to you a few files in full resolution.
Hope it helps. _________________ Cheers , Teo

Cheers for that Teo. No bad IMO for an old 2005 camera! I can get it for €40 but I still not sure if it is worth getting it. Thx. |

yea i think absolutely worth getting. before i moved to dslr i had the first incarnation of this camera, and i took some just fabulous pictures with it. at the time they were touting the lens as a product of collaboration with leica, so it was leica designed and spec'd. results were so good several different family members bought and still use this today! _________________ Epson RD1 + Elmarit 21/2.8; Summarit 50/1.5; Summarit 75/2.5; Elmar-c 90/4; Sankyo Komura 135/2.8, Hektor 135/4.5; Braun Paxina 29 6x6; Photax Boyer Paris; Holga 120 Pano

If you live in a sunny country like yours or Spain, Italy or Portugal this would be a great camera at ISO 80-100. But in my end of the world, it is pretty useless as at ISO 200 or 400 it is poor due to image degradation.
The IQ shown here is really impressive at the long end at ISO 100

More here - brilliant at ISO80

As you can see in this thread: http://forum.mflenses.com/lumix-t44871.html
I still have the FZ20. It used to be my "first" cam some years ago.
It can produce very nice images, as long as you stick to ISO100.
And the AF sometimes is not really fast. Otherwise it's a nice cam! _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!
