I just acquired one of these today locally. I probably wont have a chance to play with it for a few weeks with the holidays, so I'm interested in hearing other people's experience with it. |

I had once for a short time until it was stolen, worth for it's usual price , but not reach Nikon , Zeiss etc level.
Mine had a bit cold colors, very nice bokeh and acceptable sharpness at wide open. _________________ -------------------------------

I have a Sigma 70-210 F2.8 as well, and have always been pleased with the lens, but my love for MF primes drove me to buy this one. That and the Sigma is in need of a CLA sometime soon, as the zoom ring has gotten quite stiff.
I found a minute to play with the lens today, and found that I got reasonably sharp images wide open. That's good, because after my not so careful inspection at purchase, I discovered today oil on the aperture blades, causing them to be sticky.
I'm not sure if the lens is worth having cleaned. Too bad too, otherwise it looks almost mint. kinda becomes a special use lens, being essentially a fixed aperture, but it wouldn't be my only lens with deficiencies I had to work around. |
