Received my Jupiter 8 today so i slapped it onto the M39 adapter and then onto my E-P1. Lens is nice and clean and i think it takes decent images.

Looks like a sexy combination with the E-P1 Smile
I have two J8 lenses and soon will have two more. There is something special about them, don't know what it is.

is it flare? Laughing

i have the damndest time with flare when using my j8 with film. having said that, like with many russian lenses it does have a certain character that is very warm. those are nice shots on the ep1--i always admire good shots w that cam w/o evf...

I think it's going to be a great lens for Black and white images!

yes, maybe on the ep1--with film ive had problems using this lens in bright light w b&w.

lately ive taken to shooting all my dslrs in raw+jpeg, with jpeg being b&w. benefit is you have the raw color photo right next to what it looks like in b&w for easy comparison. has been working pretty well, except on ep2 i only see b&w while focusing, which can be a bit difficult sometimes, but i like the benefits because i end up using the b&w version a lot more than i would if i only shot in color, but still have the color option, which i wouldnt have if i shot in b&w...

Yes, this is a nice inexpensive lens on the PEN. Looks like you have one of the good old ones, which serial do you have? Starts with 55 or 56 perhaps?

Serial is 6006479

The body is quite worn and the aperture ring is not notchy but the glass is scratch and fungi free and everything works so I'm more than happy.
