I've recently received two cheap aquisitions for the collection -

1 - A very strange Tamron, a fixed-mount (M42) 135/2.8

This is a model 680 AR, listed on the Tamron site -

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.tamron.co.jp/data/old-lens/olm135.htm

Tamron says this came out in 1962. It looks a lot like the Yashinon-DX series, and of course also resembles the later Adapt-a-matic and Adaptall lenses. But it predates all of them ! It may be the first automatic Tamron also, as its the first such lens listed.

2. - A very early Soligor preset 135/2.8, I believe from the late 1950's. It must be one of Ponder&Bests first product line.

It came in an Exakta mount (not a T-mount), but I replaced it with my own contraption to make it fit M42.

I have no idea who the maker is, but the thing is extremely well made, a lot of chromed brass. There are alot of possibilities.

Two excellent examples of lens design (well, I mean barell design!).
The Tamron looks like the 70s and could be taken from the first Star Trek movie. Very Happy
And the Soligor (I love the "handwritten" logo!) really looks like a lens from the 50s/60s.

Excellent finds!

The Soligor is a beauty! I wouldn't even care about picture quality if lens looks like that Smile
