A winner till the Italians introduced a 4 cylinder Gilera on the race track, with a top rider called Agustini...or was it Surtees first.

The Norton and the Gilera took the GP500 title with Geoff Duke as the rider. MV Agusta managed to convince some of the key development technicians from Gilera to join MV Agusta so the MV was effectively an improved Gilera.
Looks like I'm going to have to attend some of the classic bike race meetings in the New Year so I can share some pics of old bikes used in anger.

I actually saw a very similar Manx to this one, with my girlfriend in Wigan a couple of months ago, sounded very illegal and looked as good as this one Very Happy
