I just came out of an underground mine and still had my camera on ISO 3200, and I took a noisy stinker! I have been comparing Lightroom3 and ACR5.6 on some noisy photos from my a550 and I am stumped at the imag processing of LR3!
Here are 2 verions of the RAW photo that I took on the a550 with a manual lens.
Here are Two Crops
After processing with LR3, noise has been converted to look like fine film grain - This is the best feature of LR3!!!

After processing with ACR5.6 (not much nice to be said here):

I cannot get as good noise reduction results from ACR/CS4 as I do from LR3 using the automatic settings…are there any suggestions how best to reduce noise?

For your consideration I have uploaded to flickr, if someone can tell me a place to put the original RAW file, I will place it there!
One Processed with LR3:

And one processed with ACR5.6 (this is the latest version):
