I got this old FTN that is in pristine physical shape but has two mechanical flaws. 1- the light meter doesn't work (expected) and 2- the advance lever jams.

Regarding the advance lever, when I actuate the shutter, that works fine and the timing is great. However, then the film won't advance unless I firmly smack the camera's base five or six times. Then it works once, twice if I actuate the shutter in quick succession. I took the base off and everything is clean inside, no mucky old grease, no bent pieces. Any ideas?
