Happy camper here,

I got my newest lens in the mail yesterday afternoon, a Nikkor 24mm.

Here it is:

I took a quick walk up in the woods around where I live and took a few test shots (40D)

Here’s a cactus at wide open at F2.4

Came home and my daughter had a school friend over. Last weekend the girls went to a tie dye party (Yes its STILL alive) and did a few pieces.
The tie dyed cloth has to rest for a week in order to let the dye set.
Last night they unfolded the dyed cloth, rinsed the excess dye out and let them dry so here’s a few shots of her work.

100% blow up of the cloth with the Nikkor, no sharpening.

This lens rocks!

Fantastic lens!!!
Perfect as an "allround" lens on a crop cam and a great wide angle on a FF.

I think this is best 24mm lens what I ever have. Congrats!

Thanks Attila,

I continue to seek good WA lenses and will probably get a rangefinder that can use Leica M lenses in the future sometime.

In my experience rangefinders provide better quality than SLR cameras.

In my experience better shooters provide better image quality regardless
of what they are using...lol. But agree, Attila, RFs certainly come through
with the goods.

Nice ones Jules, and a superb lens! Sometime maybe you can tell me
how you managed to shoot the cactus at f2.4 Wink Smile

For some reason nikon got the 24 series right, and made a less successful 28 series. I have 3 of the 24's and all are terrific. Good buy Jules, and I agree with Bill - good shooters do great work whatever the lens's capability.

Years ago, I read in a survey of Camera et darkroom, that the angular lens that less professionals in photo journalism used was the one of 28 mm and the most used was the one of 24 mm.
It is very probable that an adapted study of market realised by niokon threw similar results.
