Your lens cleaning fluid might dissolve softener agents or similar stuff from you microfiber towel and after evaporation that might fog your lens.
Try a soft paper handkerchief with ethanol or IPA to remove the crap-coating.

I have very good experience with micro fiber towel + 99% IPA
